I know not many of us are theater goers anymore. and some have never been.
But Iron Man? so worth it. Saw it on saturday in a DLP theater... whatever that means. Paid full price for two of us and i dont regret a cent of it.
I doubted downy jr for the longest time. I retract anything negative I may have said about him in the role and offer myself up for caning if that is necessary.
and aside to Berin---- let me know when you've seen the movie and who Obediah Stane (jeff bridges) reminds you of. the resemblance was uncanny with certain expressions during the movie. i had to laugh.
For my two cents, Iron Man beat out Batman Begins by a nose. IM was better paced and had a cleaner story line, and Downey's Tony Stark was more likable (identifiable with?) than Bale's Bruce Wayne.
The first Spiderman was great, and I'd say that Iron Man has all the same plusses with fewer of the same minuses. It's like Marvel learned from the experience. Best not to mention the other Spidey movies, though. Evil disco emo-hair spidey? *shudders*
I saw it yesterday and posted to UncleBear that Stane looks freakishly like The Colonel. I can just image what The Colonel could do with power armor, too...
You heard what happened with him, didn't you? Some long-lost uncle passed away and left him controlling interest in a coal mine in West Virginia. He's now the CEO of a mining company. I can totally see The Colonel decked out in coal-powered steampunk-looking armor.
last i heard he was waiting to see if his wife accepted a position in TN and was just kind of floating in the wind with a very careless sort of attitude toward the situation.
so he is an onsite coal miner? or is he still kicking around tucson and managing his evil empire from afar?
foghorn leghorn, har!
Angry teen, "Hey, F*CK you man!"
The Colonel, "You wouldnt like it.... I Sweat!" ( this from an ex marine in his 60's without missing a beat.)
Still haven't seen it but Robert Downey Jr. seemed like a no-brainer to me. They got a rich famous substance abuser to play a rich famous substance abuser. If Downey ever dressed up as a carboard and tinfoil robot as a kid then what more could you ask for?
