Let Me Tell You About My Paladin

Over the weekend, I played a Pirates game with a good friend, and two other guys I met. After playing the basic game with my friend to get a feel for the moves, we moved on and added crew and unique ship abilities to the mix. The two new guys (who weren't around for our original playtest) got assigned two of the sea monsters (the Lusca and the Squalo), while my friend and I got three ships each (we tried to match them up so that we had a roughly even set).

We noticed quickly that the sea monsters had lousy moves, while the ships (especially with bonuses from the various crew we (randomly) selected) really moved quickly.

My friend suggested that a way to even out the disparity for the monster would be to let them have the ability to move and attack at the same time.

Has anybody tried this?
