Let Me Tell You About My Paladin

For some reason every time I try to comment over at UncleBear.com, I go straight to the spam filter for the site (even though I turn off sharing a link and have no links in my comments). Is there something I should know?

The other thing that will trip the UncleBear spam filter are a list of links. If you have links in comments, it will flag for approval. Those at least send me an email. Not all items flagged as spam do.

I cannot get to it everyday, but I check each and every item caught in the spam filter to see if it is actually spam, or if the system just got overly zealous. You are not the only one that this has happened to (including myself). Overall the filtering is pretty good. It's just sad that we live in a world where a few jerkwad spammers make such efforts necessary.

I was using my Unearthed Playgrounds site (hosted with Mobile Me (Apple's web hosting)) - http://web.mac.com/unearthed/ruminator/

(btw, I hope my my Squidoo pages are acceptable ( http://www.squidoo.com/lensmasters/rumn8tr )

Which blog were you using that it kicked? I can tell you that Akismet HATES Squidoo. I do , too, because for every 1 good page there are 10 spammer pages.

That's a possibility. I do know that there are some problems with cookies (and whatnot) on the G4s at work.

I just made a comment over at Vulcan Stev's Database using Risus: TOTM instead of my regular blog and it appeared right away. I also made a comment over at Uncle Bear using Are You Pondering..., and it appeared right away as well.

So I am thinking even more that for some reason Word Press doesn't like Apple (since that is who hosts Unearthed Playgrounds).

It's been happening for quite a while (Bear had to approve my comments last week). I wonder if it is the domain of my blog that is causing the issue (even if I tell it to not link to the most recent post).

As my one act of Dire Administration I approved your comment. If there's a way to permanently flag you as not-a-spammer I couldn't find it though.

How long has it been discriminating against you? If you have a dynamic IP you might try refreshing it. Your IP might have gotten flagged somehow if someone else was spamming with it. Either that or I guess you just need to stop mentioning viagra so much.

Dunno but you go straight to the spam filter over at the Database as well. To the point of my being excited about the spam filter because there's a possibilty of a reply from you.
