Let Me Tell You About My Paladin

Vulcan Stev

Introductions are in order?

Sirius started this on his blog, but it got me thinking. Does the profile page adequately tell everyone else here who we are? I'm not talking full names, addresses, contact info...

Rather, Why we here, why we're post geeks...

I'll go first.

Name: Larry

Aliases: Ruminator, rumn8tr, Unearthed Ruminator

Risus Stats
Dedicated family man (4)
Mac weilding, Java swinging, web developer (3)
Sci-Fi, comics, and RPG geek (3)

Geek About
Simple solutions for life, Apple products, RPGs, comics, sci-fi, fantasy, Nintendo

Paladin Status
Been visiting Uncle Bear for quite a long time; once upon a time, when the forums were hosted with Everyone.net (if I recall the site correctly), I had my forums share a couple of the forums with Uncle Bear.

Games
Been playing various RPGs since original D&D (Basic/Expert set). Haven't done a whole lot lately though (mostly stick to Risus as it meets my needs and doesn't cost a whole lot). Someday I might work some more on Unearthed Playgrounds.

Reading
Mostly fantasy novels (currently re-reading Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series as the last book is due in November).

Watching
With kids, mostly Nick and Cartoon Network ;-) Avatar: The Last Airbender is good if you haven't seen it. Other stuff includes: Mythbusters, Man vs. Wild, Lost, and Battlestar Galactica. On DVD, mostly kids/Pixar/Aardman movies and stuff that I wanted to see in the theater but couldn't afford to go see; or movies that I really liked when I was a whipper snapper and want to own. I don't do Netflix or Blockbuster or nothin' like that.

I'm with Hypnoangel in that I'm post-geek just because I can't afford to be a real geek (and my only geek offline-friend is a 12 hour drive away so I haven't seen him for over a year).

Name: Gary.

Geek about: SF & Fantasy. History. Conspiracy Theory. Comic Books. Movies. Tech (although not so much anymore). XBOX (again, time constraints). Anything else I find cool and unique.

Paladin Since Date: Don't know exactly. I know I was subscribing to GeekMedia at some point in the last decade and lurked on Unclebear for quite a few years -- who the hell knows? Let's call it "fer a while".

RPG's played: Does life count? Otherwise whatever came across the table.

Read most often: SF&Sci Fi. Currently Jim Butcher w/Dresden Files. 40k Fiction. Getting through Lord of the Rings again.

TV Tuned to: Whatever... usually it's white noise. Do enjoy Heroes, Pushing Daisies, NCIS, Chuck, etc.

I'm a poor geek. I get to geek on whatever's cheap or at the used bookstore.
